OMG there's a reason that there's a line and it's worth the wait. The line moves quickly and you get wonderful bakery smells while waiting. You can take your treat and/or coffee and enjoy it in the garden out back. The lemon scones and cinnamon roll are to die for.

About twenty years ago, while on a solo weekend drive north of San Francisco, I took a few wrong turns and got completely lost! I had no reception, and my smartphone was a bit clunky anyway. Eventually, after making some lucky guesses, I ended up on Bodega Highway. With a semi-functional compass in my head, I turned right, knowing that if I continued east, I would eventually hit Highway 101.

A few miles later, I noticed a building on the left with a bunch of cars parked in front of it. I decided to walk into the store, buy something, and ask for directions. To my delight, the store turned out to be Wild Flour Bread, and as soon as I walked in, I knew I was hooked!

I remember sitting there, enjoying a whole Fougasse bread with coffee, and then I bought a few different loaves to take home with me. (Sadly, one of the Fougasses didn’t even make it home!)

From that point on, whenever I was in the area, I made sure to detour to Wild Flour Bread and indulge even more. I started taking friends with me, and we began buying local goods like cheese, tomatoes, and cured meats to enjoy with the bread. Eventually, I had to cut down on my Fougasse intake after almost crossing the line into Fougasse overdose territory!

Believe the hype. The Egyptian is the most decadent take on a cinnamon roll I've ever had. The flavors here are mature; the Meyer lemon scone is fluffy and mildly bitter.

A little bakery window with great bread, and wonderfully flavorful scones. I’d recommend the wonder bread and the peach, pecan, brown sugar scone if they’re available, but really you’re not going to go wrong with any (fruit) scone!

Extremely good bread and the loafs are massive!

The scones are also a good size and I recommend the maple cornmeal scone and the garlic rosemary loaf 🍞

Wildflour was recommended to me by a Santa Rosa local and needless to say, it definitely is a must try!

Known for artisanal bread and their bomb scones, wild flour has a lot of variety of bread that fits everybody’s bread cravings ranging from sourdough, savory, sweet, flat breads, and pastries.

Would recommend their garlic rosemary, any of their flatbreads, and anyone of their scones!

There was a line on Sunday afternoon (assuming there’s always a line lol)

Parking lot is kinda small but many people just park on the side of the road anyway.

10/10 must try or make it tour pit stop if you’re in sonoma county!

Wonderful bread, scones, and coffee and a beautiful garden in which to enjoy them at Wild Flour Bread with its famous brick oven french bread. Vegan scone was amazing. Bought Rosemary Garlic bread and Olive bread to take back to my sister's place -- and it was gone in no time! (Their Whole Wheat loaf is so popular it was gone by the time we got there at 9:30 a.m.) It's located on Bohemian Hwy. in Freestone, CA, near Bodega Bay.
