Our experience with Christy was wonderful. Christy exercises the utmost professionalism, has loads of experience in Selective Mutism, one of the most commonly mistreated disorders, and was extremely kind in finding ways to support us even though she did not have space to take my daughter on as a regular client.

My 6-year old attended Christy's camp in Livermore from out of state (out of country in fact). Christy had a foolproof system of making sure my daughter would be able to move forward in every session. My daughter left every day of camp (some days it was extremely difficult to get her there since she knew she had to do very challenging tasks) elated by her successes. The experience my daughter gained in doing class presentations, self-advocating, and other tasks I had never dreamed she would be able to do, did not transfer immediately into her classroom (there was an international trip and language shift between the two that we had difficulty navigating), but I know that my daughter carries those experiences and is much more prepared to do these tasks. Every day when I picked my daughter up from camp her counselors gave me extremely generous written and verbal feedback that we would be able to use in our own country. The children also had experience with a nurse, which my daughter promptly put to work for an eye exam the following week.

Upon returning to our home country (Turkey), Christy used her knowledge of our daughter's unique situation to help us process input from other professionals and deal with some challenges my daughter had to face. She also guided us in planning school interventions even though my daughter's school had limited English and was not proactive in working on my daughter's brave talking goals.

My husband and I would recommend Christy in a heartbeat- especially for those within the Bay Area as I know from other parents that Christy can function as a strong school advocate. BUT even if you are not in the Bay Area, please do not hesitate to work with her remotely- esp. if you are in North America. Christy worked with my daughter very successfully online when we were visiting family in the Seattle area. Working with her online will be MUCH more productive than working with a local professional who has less knowledge about Selective Mutism. She will coach you and your child to start moving forward quickly. And since anxiety disorders are best dealt with via intensive exposure therapy a short trip to San Francisco can be extremely productive. The biggest limitations we faced were the 10-11 hour time difference from our hometown of Istanbul (and even then we had online consultations, but we knew meetings with my child would be impossible) and Christy's busy schedule! 🙂

I want to mention that Christy, knowing our financial situation and that we had no insurance coverage, also gave us a generous scholarship. She will do her best to support you as able so don't hesitate to reach out. We are grateful for every minute of support she gave us and the huge steps our daughter took with her.

Christy is highly experienced therapist who has ability to connect with a child and family to find the best approach to a multitude of complex issues. She has been working with my son ( 9) on social emotional issues, where he needed help with being a better listener and communicator. Christy suggested many great strategies for him and for us to use to improve challenges we face. I highly recommend her for families seeking a therapist who can work with both kids, and adults on finding ways to have better relationships and life in general.

I helped as a counselor at Christy’s selective mutism program and had a great experience. Christy trained our team and provided direct feedback on a daily basis. She really gets to know all the kids she works with and helps set individualized goals for each one. It was so rewarding to watch how much progress the kids made in a week through her program.

WestCoast Therapy and Wellness has been a wonderful resource for our family. Christy Tadros has been working with our family since 2018. She has supported both my children as they navigate anxiety. Her caring and "meet you where you are at" style has been so helpful for my children. Both of my children have felt so safe and comfortable in her care. As a parent, I have also been trying to ride the waves of anxiety and OCD with my children and Christy has supported me through this difficult time as well. She always takes the time to explain anxiety and how we as parents can help our children. She has been an invaluable resource for our family. I highly recommend her services.

Christy and her team helped us through a difficult time; when our daughter was diagnosed with General Anxiety and Selective Mutism. They taught us how to parent, advocate, and guide others into having successful relationships with our daughter. Without Christy's thoughtful and knowledgeable guidance, I don't know where we would be today. Thank you!
