I had a great experience, in an otherwise unfortunate event (sick pet).

They were beyond accommodating and provided great service and price value.

The product was a liquid medication that they flavored to make it palatable.

The medication came in a bottle that had a self-sealing mechanism to accept the oral syringe for dosing, making for no-mess usage and spill prevention.

The medication came with a well marked oral syringe and clear instructions for use with the container.

I was provided the option to receive the prescription and syringe via delivery (US Mail, FedEx, UPS I think).

They also facilitate pick-up at their location and followed COVID protocols during pickup.

Regarding cost value, I received a full months supply that cost half the price that I paid my vet for a 5-day supply!!!

Their pick-up location is easy enough to get to off 101, however they are in a business park that is not at all well addressed or signed, and it took me a bit to find them.

I expressed my difficulty finding them and they were humble, expressing an apology and explaining that someone had removed/stolen their signage at the street entrance. I still found them and received what I needed so, no harm no foul.

Great place that I hope I do not have to use again. If needed though, I will use them again without second thought.

Thank you Golden Gate Veterinary Compounding Pharmacy!

I was initially worried when GGVCP transitioned to Brava Pharmacy, as the transition period was not super smooth in terms of online refills, etc. However, a few key items have been vastly improved for me after the transition, which are actually more important for me:
1. My refills are lightning fast now. Order processing used to take a few days or up to a week until they would ship. The last two times I have refilled my cat's meds, the shipping has been the same day! This literally never happened before and I couldn't be happier about it (since I can never remember to reorder until my bottle is nearly empty).
2. Brava changed the formulation of one of my cat's meds to a shelf stable formula. The alleviated the need for very costly overnight shipping and has saved me a ton of money!

I have not tried to refill orders online yet, but it looks like it might be possible now? Anyway, the phone ordering is very fast, and these two changes above have made a great impression on me. Thank you Brava!

I have had nothing but positive experiences from this place. The staff, the customer service, the quick deliveries (sent with tracking info)… everything has been great. This is the only place I go to for my cat’s medication. I highly recommend!

Update: it looks like Golden Gate pharmacy got bought out. My dogs medication went up $40. Even the poor young woman on the other line was shocked. Robbers.

Old review: This was a great experience. Very nice people. Efficient. Reasonably priced. I was very pleased and will continue to use them from now on.

Have been using this company for years for specifically compounded meds for my cat. Over the last few years the quality and attention to customer service has declined enough so I'm considering taking my business elsewhere.
I exclusively order the chews for my cat, items that do not hold up to heat at all. During the spring through fall months, anytime the temp is above 70 I always pay for overnight delivery and request ice packs. This was after having a few orders show up melted together and having to wait for a replacement batch. They have always been great at replacing these items, which I appreciate, not so much the wait time for new meds. I only live 2 hours away from the company so even when I dont pay for overnight they arrive quickly, but I don't take the chance in the heat.
However, this has been hit or miss lately. I've dealt with them enough to know that overnight shipping is not applicable in orders going out on Fridays, as Saturday and Sunday are not business days. So I also ask my orders to be held until Monday so not to have them sitting in a warehouse for two days in the heat.
In the past year the price of overnight shipping has doubled to almost $25, which I understand and accept because that is my choice as a pet owner and a cost I'm willing to spend. My last order has been the last straw however. Order was called in on Monday by my vet, which was a holiday. On Tuesday they called to confirm the order. During this call the rep said she made notes not to ship on Friday and to put an ice pack in the shipment, something that used to happen automatically in the warmer months but I've taken to requesting after it became hit or miss. On Wednesday they called because I'd forgotten I'd received a new card and hadn't updated it. After taking care of billing I then confirmed that it wouldn't ship out on Friday and they the note was in my file to hold til Monday. This was confirmed. Come Friday I receive an email that a label had been created. I immediately called to remind them to hold the order and was told it'd all ready shipped out, despite the tracking later showing that it wasn't picked up til hours later which could be due to FedEx not scanning the item right away. So my meds were picked up and delivered to my city the same day and then sat in a warehouse for 48 hours before being delivered on Monday. Icing on it all is there was no ice pack in the box. Lucky for them we had an odd spring cool those two days, sandwiched between typical 85-90° days.
My requests for this is not only to ensure I receive meds but also to save them the costs of replacing damaged items. There was no offer to refund shipping, flat out denied when I asked. They wouldn't discount the meds or offer credit because the meds were not damaged, again by the luck of weather and because I was honest with them. The only assurance I received that it wouldn't happen again was that a note has been placed in my file. A note that was already there, and a note that has been overlooked or ignored on more than one occasion. I can and do understand that things happen but when it happens more than once, costs me unnecessy money,.wait times, potentially messes with my cat getting the meds she needs daily, and potentially costs the company money in replacements which drives up the cost for all consumers it challenges the integrity of the company. Before this company bent over backwards to support and work with pet owners, but since expanding and moving a few years ago there has just been a steady decline.
They might still be a good company but it's not the great company I'd previously had the pleasure of being a customer of for so many years, the one I happily spent upwards of $1400 a year with, trusted the health of my cat to, and told all my friends and vets about.

Ordered some very critical medicine for my senior feline, and was told I would receive it in two days. Three days later, I received it. Trivial? Maybe to some, but not to a beloved pet that needs the medicine asap. Critical situations need critical responses by Vets and the medicine providers. My trust in both have been diminished. Update, November 2 2018. Ordered a refill via phone system and I received no confirmation of order nor an estimate of shipment. I am going to contact my Veterinarian who recommends this "company " and express my extreme disappointment.

My first experience with this pharmacy went smoothly and I was pleased overall. My first refill however didn't go so well. I called the refill, they called me back to verify my payment and I was told it would be delivered in 5-7 days. I called on the 7th day because I didn't see any tracking evidence. That's because it still hadn't gone out a week later. The lady said they have a week to refill a med. What? Whoever heard of that. If it slipped through the cracks just say so, mistakes happen, but it's a poor provider that needs that long to fill a med that's not a complicated compound. I won't be using this pharmacy again.

I have always had good service here. They normally take 5-7 days to ship a refill. Last Friday, as I was going out of town, I checked my USPS account and noticed that my Annie's thyroid medicine was delivered on the 5th and left on the front steps. I had checked each day as someone typically lets the mailman in the building. Not this time. Her meds had been stolen out of the front door alcove. Ugh! I called them to let them know what had happened. The kind person asked how much medicine I had left and I said enough to get through the weekend. As I was driving out of town, two hours later, I got a call and text from them saying her meds were ready to be picked up. Same day! I was so touched by their concern and incredible service. Thank you!

An unfortunate update.

Golden Gate Compounding Pharmacy has been such a great provider of meds for my dear cat Annie. When Brava took over, the turn around on a refill of Methimazole went from 5 days to 1 day! I was amazed and optimistic, until I gave Annie the first dose. Turns out the formula changed from water based to oil based, without notice. After dosing her with a .5 ml syringe worth of the new formula, ,m 16 year old cat ran off my lap faster than I’ve seen her run in years. She then started coughing and retching so that I thought she was going to die. She hasn’t, even after three doses. After much effort and worry about getting a replacement, Brava blamed the formula chain on supply chain issues. The tech said that cats had been responding poorly to the new formula. They had available a high concentrate version, requiring only a .1 ml dose. My vet had concerns about such a concentrated dose and referred me to Roadrunner Pharmacy in AZ. They also got Feel Good Pharmacy in Pacifica to make a small amount to get Annie through the weekend. Needless to say, it was a very stressful period. As a bonus, the ease with which Annie took the meds twice a day is gone as is the trust she had in me not to hurt her. The lap time in her favorite chair is no more. I love this cat so and she is 16 years old. I’ve asked Brava about a refund, or if they would like the unused 177 dose bottle back. No reply.
