Vijetha is a hidden gem for Indian food lovers in Sam Ramon. The store is well-stocked with a wide variety of Indian spices, ingredients, and ready-to-eat meals. The quality of the products is excellent, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with recommendations or answer questions. I especially love their selection of fresh produce and wide varieties of homemade sweets. If you're looking for authentic Indian ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere, Vijetha is definitely worth a visit.

Pros:

1. Wide variety of products
2. High-quality ingredients
3. Friendly and helpful staff
4. Reasonable prices
5. Fresh produce and sweets

Only Con:

?Can get crowded during peak hours. Avoid weekends

And yes The store has ample parking available in its lot.

A good supermarket with all kinds of Indian grocery one would need. It was my first visit to check out the quality and merchandise since I normally buy from another nearby Indian store.

Luckily I got Amul Cow Ghee that wasn't available elsewhere. Not sure why they had stuck a note of 'Vegetable Oil' on some Ghee cans. Pics attached. Cashier confirmed it's ghee only.

I was surprised to see so many people buying vegetables that didn't seem to be of a great quality. I wouldn't choose to buy veggies here. For groceries, it's a tad bit costlier than my other option so shall visit occasionally only.

Also tried Samosa at Swagruha Foods cafe inside Vijetha. Priced at 99 cents each. These come with cilantro and tamarind chutneys. It was not freshly fried, not sure how old but we were told it's reheated. Tasted good. I know another place in San Ramon where Samosa is priced same but comes with more chutney and tastes better. I planned to try Dosa but since they were packing it, didn't find it worth to pay $9 for no table service.

Have been regular customer to this place. Last week we had an occasion at home and placed catering order at Vijetha. Food was awesome. I would say all the items were great, particularly their Pulav and all curries.
Their Indian snacks, chutneys and curries are always fresh and taste great. Have been trying them all these years. Fresh food, friendly staff, reasonable pricing, what else we can expect!! Overall I recommend them.

Really disappointed with the food…Ordered Onion samosas, samosa chat( super cold chutneys which made the entire chat cold), mirchi bajji( undercooked and no salt at all), Punugulu ( undercooked from inside and too crispy outside)…Extremely disappointed. even after talking to the cashier and another representative - there was no action except sorry. the explanation was the usual people who make everyday are not here today, that’s not my problem…Are you charging less because your head cook is not there?

This review is based on our recent catering experience of snack & dinner boxes for ~150 attendees with Swagruha Foods. Food was amazing based on feedback received from a wide range of attendees including a few hard-to-please critics such as elderly parents visiting from India. Top comments: "Punugulu + Tomato chutney is a must-try", "Food was flavorful and mild", "Great coffee", "Tasty side-dishes". Our entire experience ranging from seeing women-run kitchen, responsive & helpful owner/staff, ordering/delivery was favorable.

Beware and cross check the name and rate of items purchased in the bill.
I recently visited Vijetha supermarket @San Ramon to purchase vegetables and unfortunately had a troubling experience with their billing again.
I noticed that several items were billed under different names and at significantly higher prices than those listed.
For instance, i had purchased chayote marked at $0.99 was rung up at $3.99 with the name green pear. Despite bringing this to the cashier's attention several times during past visits, the issue was taken lightly .
Since most of us will be in a hurry or wont bother to cross check the bill among many items purchased, they are taking advantage of billing 3-4$ more for several items which increases the total bill amount significantly. This has left me quite disappointed. I suggest the store reviews their billing practices and not misuse customer's trust.

Good selection of items with regular rotation and shelving motivates us to go to this Indian store. Every now and then however we'll notice store taking advantage of "inflation" price of some items. Most recent purchase showed price of Deep frozen Punjabi Cocktail samosa (30 count) charged as $8.99. Post inflation price has been $5.99 and we were right when we checked at New India Bazar, Pleasanton- they confirmed it to be $5.49. Either the staff here are not doing their job well and been careless as business is good or store is trying to rip off customers and making quick money. This item stood out in our bill but there may be other items here and there with a dollar up which we wouldn't notice in this "inflation" hyped environment where prices in Indian groceries are not coming down while other American stores are able to bring down price with lowering inflation.
Hope management addresses such concern of us customers and we're sure, we're not the only ones noticing such sticky prices. Thank you!
