This store is awesome. The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about tea, spices , sugars, rubs and are very helpful. After becoming a regular customer I was disappointed when arriving this evening to find the store closed 45 minutes early (on a Friday night ). The Google listing and the store website showed closing time as 7pm on Friday.
As I shot the photo to accompany this review a staff person opened the door and wanted to know how he could help and explained the store is closed , and added that it was his first night closing and the closing time has changed.

The smell hits you the moment you step into the store. All the blends and teas. It can be a little overwhelming but the longer you stay the more use to it you get. There are some amazing tea blends they have. And the best part you can have them mail it to you if you are outta state. This made it handy so we didn't have to worry about finding space in our luggage for it.

If there was a slice of heaven in a little local shop, there are so many nice teas to smell and sample, if you want to spice up your sugar and salts there are samples to try too if asked for.

Went there for my 1st time this weekend... I'm hooked. I can't wait to take my friends back with me. I got so many incredible spices and sugars. I'm absolutely obsessed with the popcorn flavor I tried and the Scorpion pepper salt. The person who helped me was fantastic and so helpful♡ what a charming store!

I recently moved to Alaska and this place is awesome. They have tons of fresh herbs and spices and sell them by the ounce. Reasonable and good pricing. The tea also looks good with a bunch of traditional ways to make and drink the tea. I can tell the employees seem to like working there which makes a difference. I’ll definitely be back often to get a couple ounces of spices and tea when I could use a refill.

I was traveling in Alaska with my family and had a hankering for something refreshing. We have a no chain policy when traveling & as we met closed options, we happened upon The Spice and Tea Exchange. Technically the store was closed; however, at 7:22 PM the door was still open and while Liz was checking out another customer, I cautiously asked if they were closed. She let me know that she would be happy to fix me some tea and once she had finished with a customer, she came over to help me select my tea of choice. It was delicious but even better was her warm customer service.
The store is well laid out and has a nice aesthetic.
If I were local I would be a regular buying quality spices and tea.
