Wow. WOW!!!! This was just the most magical stay. Started with being greeted by Sean the bellman. Honestly, he made the trip. His energy and love for his job showed in every interaction. Rainy day? No problem. He had an amazing excitement that was infectious. Helped us plan fun days, had great recommendations, and was always nearby to offer us a Hot Toddy!!
The rooms are spectacular and the fire pits throughout the property make it romantic and cozy no matter the weather. We enjoyed drinks and dinner at the Tavern - the burger is divine! And the Matteis Tavern hot sauce we should have bought a case of. Ended every night with a cocktail by the fire. Make sure to go to the olive oil class or the property tour is your dates align!
When the sad time came and checkout was upon us, Serenity and Austin were very helpful and got us on our way, ensuring we would definitely be coming back!!
Great stay, lovely town, could walk everywhere, can’t wait to return.

We stayed at The Inn at Mattie’s Tavern for a two-night girls’ weekend and had a great experience overall. The rooms are spacious with incredibly comfortable beds, and the outdoor area is a highlight—the fire pit is perfect for making s’mores. The location is also ideal, with easy access to Los Olivos and its wineries.

The manager’s warm welcome, complete with a hot toddy and property tour, added a special touch. The property also has a fun selection of courtesy vehicles for use. The only downsides were the spa being fully booked and unable to accommodate us, and the coffee shop and restaurant do not open for breakfast until 7am (6/6:30 would be preferred!).

Overall, it’s a beautiful property with thoughtful details, and we’d happily stay again—just booking the spa in advance next time!

My wife and I have stayed at the property multiple times over the last year. We had our wedding there recently and I cannot say enough great things about our experience. It was hands down the best weekend. Everything went perfectly. A big thank you to Kara, Raven, and Alexa. The rooms, grounds, food, drinks, and other accommodations were spectacular. We wish it could have lasted longer. You can tell the staff enjoy being there and go above and beyond to make it special. 10/10

Blown away by the attention to detail. We loved everything from the crisp linens, wonderful restaurant and beautiful rooms! This place is special! Loved playing cards in the bar at night with an old-fashioned. It was hard to leave!

The auberge hotel is very beautiful but it was packed the entire time we were there and frankly the property didn’t feel like it could handle the amount of people. There were lines for coffee in the morning and drinks at night. A wedding basically took over the hotel while I stayed there which wasn’t the most pleasant as they were quite rowdy. The worst part was that my room had an adjoining door to another room. I could literally hear every word the guests in the other room said. When I asked to move rooms the hotel said they were completely full.

Legendary property with well appointed suites and grounds.

Rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed and luxurious.

Although we had a subpar check-in and welcome experience, management was responsive and considerate about improving the remainder of our short stay. Billy, Andrew and Joern —we are so appreciative of your communication and every effort to make our stay memorable.

Superb. We took a cooking class and loved it. Everyone was warm, and welcoming. We will be back for other events. A neighborhood gem. Worth the visit. The employees are professional, and top notch. They enhanced our experience. Incredible people and place. Allow time for parking.

My overall impression is that the front desk staff were either exhausted or stoned - horrible responsiveness. Any simple request seemed to take forever and /or be put on hold. I feel like my two days there were spent battling trying to get things done with them. Restaurant staff were super friendly - room was nice although views etc are not 5 star. I wouldn’t go back and I don’t think I’d recommend it. It wasn’t relaxing dealing with trying to get simple things taken care.
