I visited The Grill in Lone Pine recently, and unfortunately, it was a truly disappointing experience. I ordered a ribeye steak, medium-rare. After what felt like an unusually long wait, I let the waitress know I had to quickly unplug my car at the supercharger across the street and park it. When I returned, the steak was finally served, but the meal was a disaster: the steak was well-done, and the sides were raw. The meat seemed like it hadn’t been defrosted properly, as it was half-boiled in some parts. Clearly, the kitchen lacks basic cooking skills.

When I politely asked the waitress to cancel the steak, she took the plate and loudly smashed it into the trash, causing other customers to look startled. She even admitted she “wanted to smash the plate.” Feeling unsafe by this aggressive behavior, I decided to leave. When I mentioned the steak was overcooked, she blamed me for moving my car, saying that’s why the steak overcooked—but she never warned me it was ready.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for decent food or service. If you’re just after some French fries, maybe you’ll be okay, but otherwise, this is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and I’ve lived in Paris for 13 years. The service was incredibly aggressive, and the food was inedible. I hope management takes notice and reconsiders who’s running this place…

We ordered a full rack of pork ribs. It tasted good but the meat hard to cut, not falling off the bones like in common. The home made cheesecake is on the light side which for us is good. Prices are fair

I came to The Grill before and after hiking Mt Whitney, and it was an excellent decision. Most of my hike is a blur of exertion and freezing cold wind, but the pork chops I had before and the jalapeno burger I had after both stand out firmly in my memory. Perfectly cooked, seasoned beautifully. The rosemary butter sauce lingered on my tongue all the way to Outpost camp, and the jalapenos were roasted just right to welcome me back to the warmth of a more sane elevation.
All kidding aside, The Grill is worth a stop if you're in the area. I also had their strawberry rhubarb pie with ice cream as my dessert, and it was absolutely comforting in a way I didn't anticipate. I hadn't had rhubarb pie in a long time, and I guess I tapped into some childhood memories.

My husband and I stopped here on our way through town. We shared the California Burger with onion rings and both were delicious. The gentleman overheard me commenting on how the onion rings were some of the best I had ever had with the perfect crunch. He brought us a basket of complimentary French fries to try. They were equally amazing. The service given by both the young lady and man was exceptional. Definitely recommend this place for a meal. Will keep it in mind when we pass through again.

Family-owned restaurant. We enjoyed the BBQ bacon burger, chili, and Cesar salad with grilled salmon. The salmon was perfectly grilled, crispy on the underside, and flavorful. Very generous portions. Lovely to have lunch with a beautiful view of the mountains.

The Caesar salad was very fresh and super yummy, while my boyfriend enjoyed the Turkey club and fries. The hot apple pie à la mode was delicious, but the star of the show was our server, Jerri! What a sweetheart, and an huge asset to this restaurant!

After a horrible experience of being ignored for 10 minutes at a burger joint down the street, I came here where I was seated, got water, and my order taken within a few minutes. Gerry (sp?) was my server and was so attentive throughout my visit that it put my mind at ease from the last place.

This is a quaint joint and I observed how everyone seemed to work harmoniously with good attitudes. I remember coming here with a friend and he had a pasta dish that looked good so I went ahead and ordered one to fuel up for a hike on my way to Bishop. The portion is ridiculous! They really load you up and the flavors are balanced. It came with a salad which was refreshing.

Gerry is awesome, checking up on me and all her tables regularly. This is a good spot to hit up when in Lone Pine.

Thank you for making me feel appreciated.

The food was so delicious and made very well to order as I am pretty picky. The waitress was so nice and asked all the right questions to get our order perfect. It wasn't busy and very relaxing atmosphere. Our omelets were excellent and filling.
