My wife and I held our wedding here over the weekend and we could not be happier with our experience. Kristopher and Pam went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience on our special day and I am so grateful that they were able to make the accommodations necessary to make that happen. Our room was clean and the amenities were fantastic; heated floors in the bathroom, a built steamer in the shower, comfortable bed, etc.

The venue itself is picturesque and the vision we had for our wedding came to life. The coach house was a perfect space for our reception (58 guests) and the food was excellent. Our guests mentioned over and over again how wonderful the food was. We did have a small miscommunication with one of the meals, but Kristopher and his team worked diligently to ensure that everything was taken care of. We felt very cared for in our experience and we hope that others will have the same. A tip to future couples who are interested in marriage at this location: communication is extremely important with the team at the Genevieve. They will go above and beyond to ensure that you get everything you are asking for, but it is important that you set the expectations. They are kind people and will help you when you ask for it. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!

Honest review: Although the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful, FOR THE ROOM RATE, the rooms sorely need an update. The old carpeting and tv need to be replaced, and the bedding wasn't great. The staff was lovely, and The Victor being on the grounds were the highlights, as well as the walkable locale. For the price, however, we would not book here again, opting for Hotel Ynez, which is slightly less in price, but much better as far as amenities. We would love to try again if there are some future updates.

We recently enjoyed a staycation at The Genevieve and were struck by the beauty and charm of the property. The facilities and amenities were truly special, and the overall ambiance made for a relaxing and memorable experience. Breakfast was absolutely incredible, and we especially loved the wine and cheese hour--such a delightful touch!||||While our stay was lovely, the service at the front desk left a bit to be desired. When I requested housekeeping at 1 PM, I was assured it could be accommodated, but no one arrived. When I followed up, the front desk agent explained that there were many arrivals that day, which felt unnecessary to mention--especially since they had already confirmed the timing. It made us feel like as in-house guests, we were not a priority. A similar situation occurred at checkout when we requested a modest 30-minute extension and were again reminded about the day's arrivals, reinforcing the same sentiment.||||That said, the evening front desk agent, Asri, was noticeably more kind and hospitable, and Maria, the housekeeper, went above and beyond with her warmth and attentiveness. They both made a positive impact on our experience, and their service deserves recognition!||||Despite some service hiccups, as a local I would consider still recommending The Genevieve for its beautiful setting and thoughtful amenities. With more consistent front desk service, it would be an exceptional stay. Maybe we will try again on another midweek visit.

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel in the past 10 years and it was wonderful as always. We hadn’t been back since the name changed to The Genevieve instead of Santa Ynez Inn, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was still just as nice. The happy hour wine and cheeses are delightful, especially if you take your glass of wine by the outdoor fireplace in the lovely garden. Breakfast is amazing as well. After dinner time they put out dessert and tea/coffee, and we played scrabble by the fire. We brought our own game, I am not sure if they have board games but that would be a nice touch if they do. Some people have commented that the decor needs to be updated, but I love it. It is elegant and Victorian, and feels cozy yet luxurious with the gold accents. We stayed midweek, and the price was definitely competitive with other hotels in the Santa Ynez/Los Olivos area.

On 11/24 and 11/25, we stayed in one of the nicer rooms in the hotel. The room was equipped with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace, refrigerator and coffee maker. We had previously attempted to book this room but it was always booked several months in advance. The hotel serves a very nice breakfast and the staff is very responsive. ||During our stay, there were a couple items we requested (additional towels) and the front desk employee was very helpful and promptly delivered the requested items to our room. Upon check-out, the hotel's General Manager, Mr. McLaughlin, greeted us and wanted to make sure our stay had been a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Mr. McLaughlin and his staff were very responsive to all our requests and we look forward to booking another stay at the hotel in the future.

The room feels like a hotel room (in a good way,) and the rest feels like a bed and breakfast. Very quiet and can be romantic if you find the tight spot. I was very happy with the room and the services such as the wine , dessert and breakfast. Yes, breakfast would be better but overall I was not disappointed. Good location as well, plenty to do nearby or just hang out in the property.,

Nice boutique hotel in a charming small town in Central California wine country. Stayed in Room 102. Could have been a five out of five, except for several shortfalls. The interior common areas were attractively appointed and decorated for the holidays. We chose a large ground floor room, which was lovely, spacious and comfortable, except for a soft, mushy bed. The bathroom was large and elegantly appointed with marble and heated flooring. The shower had multiple features, including wall mounted jets and a steam room feature. And the tub had jacuzzi type jets.||The outside patio was useless. Approximately 8’ by 10’ with two 7’ high brick walls obstructing any views.||To compound things, the third wall contained an access door for maintenance of the spa on the other side, which, when running, was too loud to tolerate in the small prison yard that posed as a patio.||On the positive side, the staff was generally friendly and helpful. Finally, we had excellent breakfast service two out of the three mornings.
