I’ve been going here since 2010 and every time the exams and everything else has been wonderful, from Dr. Lim to the receptionist and to the optician. They take the time to search my insurance, verify if i’m in network if I’m unsure and clarify all remaining questions and billing costs. They even notify me what my billing would be which not a lot of other places do. If you’re looking for a new optometrist, this is the place! Dr. Lim is patient, genuine, amiable and of course talk about eye conditions in a way I can understand. Go here!

Had a great experience at Skippack EyeCare. Their staff is friendly, personable, and helpful, especially with children and picking out glasses. Dr. Lim always provides an excellent eye exam and answered all of my questions and any prescription changes. She’s extremely kind, easy to speak with and great with everyone. I highly recommend her!

Deceptive billing practices. I found out they were over charging me by $100 for my annual exams that were supposed to be free. They insisted I had a deductible. I do not for in network, annual eye exams (at least for the last 2 years). I think they looked this up when I was getting my exam and changed my appt to a medical procedure without telling me. I had to pay $224. They said it was bc I had cataracts. The thing is the doctor said my cataracts have not changed, they remained the same small size. Why the billing code change without telling me. If I knew I would not have made the appt.

My husband and I went here because we were looking for a new eye doctor and I read excellent reviews. I have to say we were very pleased with the service we received from this office. Dr. Lim was fabulous - she was friendly and thorough, easy to talk to, and really took her time. My previous eye doctor spent maybe 5 minutes in the room with me looking at my eyes, but Dr. Lim took the time to really look at my eyes, talk with me about my concerns, and discuss my new prescription with me. The rest of the staff were excellent, as well. They answered all my questions and were incredibly patient when I questioned our insurance benefits, taking the time to call our insurance multiple times to be sure they got the right answer. They fit us in for our exam 2 days after we called, and squeezed us in for our glasses fitting the day they arrived, since they knew we couldn't come the next day. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely be returning here for appointments in the future.

The eye doctor is great and the quality of service is great, but I will not be returning for another eye exam or to purchase glasses. In the 20+ years I've been wearing glasses as an adult I've never paid more than $350 for a pair through my old eye doctor in Lansdale, and that was with all the bells and whistles for the lenses. The cheapest pair through my insurance (which is above average) was nearly $800 at Skippack Eyecare, which is absurd. Then, when I tried to order a pair online they refused to give me my PD measurement, which is needed to order online, and I've never had an issue obtaining my PD measurement before with any of my eye doctors. If you ask me, this is a gimmick to get you to spend money in the store on overpriced eyeglasses. I called several other eye doctors in the area and they all said they would share my PD with me if I was a patient, and agreed that $800 for a pair of single vision glasses is ridiculous. Now I have to start all over with a new doctor just to get my PD, which takes 5 seconds to measure...

I have since taken my business elsewhere and can get the same quality lenses and features with quality frames for under $300, as expected. I would not recommend Skippack Eyecare based on my experience. They seem to be focused more on making money than providing quality service, and reading through the reviews, I'm not the first to say this either. Very disappointed.

UPDATE: I understand that the PD measurement is not part of the exam, but it was taken by the optician and they refused to share it with me stating that it is practice policy because it is a "liability issue". I called my old doctor and they gave it to me over the phone, and I stopped into another eye doctor down the street today and they did it for me on the spot for free. Never had anyone refuse to share the PD with me before. Just seems silly.
