If you are serious about working out in the matsu valley black flag is the place. 24/7 keycard access, new equipment constantly, cap on memberships so it’s never too crowded. Alex the owner is an absolute G constantly in there cleaning, maintaining, and improving the gym, one of the best business owners I’ve come across. Couldn’t recommend this gym enough.

Absolutely awesome gym. 24-hour access, so you can fit your workout to any schedule, and the member rates are very easy on your wallet. A whole wall of dumbbells, 4 squat racks, 2 bench press racks, and enough extra equipment to do any kind of workout you need. Plenty of free-weights, though it seems certain pieces of equipment are persuading some lifters that a maid comes in to pick up after them.

The owner is always great about letting clientele know about closures well ahead of time. Owner also puts in a lot of effort (on his own time) to keep this place clean and accessible. If you’re in/near Wasilla I highly recommend signing up here.

I love black flag! I always have a great workout anytime of day. Has such a chill vibe. Feels like you’re in a club. Atmosphere really matters when it comes to a gym. Alex does a great job at keeping things clean and making people feel welcome. 10/10 recommend!!

I’ve been with Black Flag Republic for many years and have seen dedicated effort for always improving the gym. The current space is large, well thought out, and Alex is always adding equipment and listening to his members. This is an amazing 24hr gym and if you’re focused on weight training, this is the place to be in the Mat-Su! Highly recommended

Rebel Fitness is a great gym with an owner who really cares! The place is completely set up for all your lifting and fitness needs, but with a small community feel. My partner and I have been members for a while now and we love how relaxed and accessible this place is. It really is the best gym in the valley. Support Rebel Fitness!!

The pictures online don't do it justice go to the instagram. It's a gorgeous gym with an attentive owner. People might balk at the $$$ but you get what you pay for in this case. Literally only critique is lack of shower but the investment was put into the GYM. You don't have a combo bench & deadlift platforms at home but you should have a shower. I love this place so far. Ive only had geeo interactions with members & Alex. Be a pirate beast & join black flag.
