Having run over 50 marathons in dozens of states, this event is one of my favorites. Plenty of water stations, toilets, and medical crews. Using the interstate to cross the wide Mississippi is a novel beginning. Appreciate the troups on station as you make your way across the Rock Island arsenal. Getting high fives from high school cheerleaders helps pass the miles. Literally running through the 'wall' that guards the course around Mike 20 is something you don't often get to do! All the water/Gatorade stations are attended by smiling, encouraging support teams. Chances are that a course director team member will be at the finish line to praise your accomplishment. All in all, this is a good run for beginner and veteran runners.
