I drive an hour from Roseville to Peaceful Valley to purchase bagged compost, bareroot trees, seeds, etc and they are always helpful. Before coming here I expected to pay a little more than the big nursery chains but I was pleasantly surprised at their pricing. Shopping here allows me to save some money as well as supporting local business. The drive is worth it.

In 25 yrs of online ordering, I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in what I received. It took 6 weeks to get my order, and then I receive a bundle of muddy nothing that was supposed to be 25 strawberry plants (there was only 21 little root balls - nothing at all that you would call a "plant"), and the $14 blueberry plant you see below (it's 6" tall). The other 2 blueberry plants weren't quite so pathetic, but still - go to your local nursery. You'll get a LOT more your dollars, and be supporting a local business. Mary, the customer service rep, gets 4 stars however.

This was my first trip to Peaceful Valley today. It's beautiful and organized and great products. However, when I walked into the store, the person behind the counter ignored me. She was helping another customer but a quick "hello" would have been fine. And as I walked through the store, she didn't ask me if she could help.

So I went outside to the nursery, walked around, loved the quality of their plants etc and no one asked if they could help me.

It was around 4pm and there were only 2 cutomers. The prices are good and the items are good as well. But I think I won't be back.

Great selection. Excellent root stock and genetics. Parcel well packaged. Plant material arrives in good condition within CA state. I have purchased more than two dozen bare root trees. What a phenomena. After three years they are all bearing fruit.
Only one tree failed to thrive within the first few months and the nursery was responsive and replaced it right away. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

This used to be a great place about 15 years ago but somewhere along the line they took a dive, business sold maybe, and they just keep getting worse. Calling customer support is a joke. Calling to make an order is hit or miss. And now we find out that the rude person who took our order for trees got it wrong and they are about to ship and they won’t answer the phone 45 minutes before they are supposed to close. Never again Peaceful Valley. Sorry to see you fail. We’ve given you plenty of chances but we’ll shop elsewhere from now on.

Next day update- We did receive a call from a nice gentleman who explained the current phone problem, storms and power outages, and of course they will refund the amount for the incorrect tree. So I’m upgrading them to a 3 star. I doubt that there were severe storms all the previous times we’ve tried to contact them by phone. I think that they are just not very well set up to deal with phone orders.
