I initially enjoyed my OsteoStrong experience. The concept and technology is interesting. The facility is clean and organized. The staff were passionate and supportive during the sessions.

My disappointment with the Carlsbad location is related to poor business management and their lack of response in helping me.

I had a personal issue and needed to pause and eventually stop my membership. I left phone and email messages and received no response. My credit card continued to be billed several months beyond their 30 day cancellation notice period. The lack of response to explain how to resolve it or help me with alternatives is an indication for how poorly managed this location is.

Both Morgan and Eileen have proven themselves to be incompetent on several occasions and very unprofessional.
I told both of them I had a knee recovering from an impact with our rescued dog. I thought they would take that into consideration when working with me on their machines. I was wrong! Eileen took over the sessions and she was always telling me to PUSH HARDER, PUSH, PUSH PUSH while pushing my feet on a plate. When I got home my knee buckled under me. Its been over 8 weeks since I’ve been able to exercise. For about 6 weeks I was unable to even walk!!! I’ve been exercising nearly daily since 1983 so giving up exercise has been extremely frustrating, depressing, and detrimental to my whole body.
Meanwhile I had met the nicest lady there who was a client, Deb. I told her about our rescued dog that had been set on fire and was terrified of people. She told me she has rescued dogs and she and her daughter do dog sitting and would love to get together and meet our dog. She also shared her husband was getting cancer test results the following week. When I realized I couldn’t return I texted Morgan and asked her to please give my number to Deb, that I wanted to see how her husband was doing, and that Deb might want to dogsit our abused rescued dog. I texted her 5 times over the course of 2 months asking for her to please give Deb my number and that I wanted to see how her husband was doing and also about dog sitting. Morgan NEVER replied to my texts which were all friendly. I eventually called the La Jolla location and left three messages for Chris who owns both centers, and he has never gotten back to me. A very unprofessional and unsafe operation.

Morgan claims their machines are “intuitive” and its “impossible” to be injured. Seriously? “Intuitive machines!” However on Oesteostrongs website, it says “no physical exercise is 100% safe and neither is Oesteostrong. While not 100% safe, Oesteostrong is significantly safer than attempting high impact force.”

There are reviews on-line about people getting injured at Oesteostrong, including one woman who writes “I'm 65 years old, take no medications, cholesterol and BP are low. I do cardio, weights and yoga daily. My doctor believes I'll live to be "a little old lady." So I was pretty strong starting out at OsteoStrong, and quickly progressed to multiples of my body weight in 3 of the 4 exercises. Frankly, I loved the process, but it was hard on my joints. Too much pressure on my feet lead to a painful bout of plantar fasciitis. The final straw was when I got epicondylitis in both elbows. It's been four months since injury and they still hurt. I am frustrated that I can no longer do many of my strength training exercises that I've done for decades. Honestly, I hope this program continues to succeed for others, but I felt compelled to write about my experience because I wish someone had warned me.”

Another client says “The staff is very friendly however one of the machines hurt my back for several days after the session. I initially blamed it on myself for pushing too hard. The next few times I tried to go easy and felt less back pain but still a small amount that hurt for a day or two. The last time I went I felt the pain immediately when I pushed on one of the machines and this pain lasted more than a week. They said they never heard of this happening to anyone but I just read another review of Osteostrong which describes the exact same thing happening to someone else. I'm sure it works for many but given that a high percentage of people with Osteoporosis are seniors it probably needs to be more customized for this population.”

BEWARE of Oesteostrong, and particularly Morgan and Eileen at the Carlsbad location. And if anyone knows Deb, please let her know about this post so we can connect. Thank you.

I've been a member for 3 months already. Staff is extremely warm and friendly and perfect cheerleaders as I do my sessions! All reports are emailed to me immediately after each visit. I can definitely feel my muscles getting stronger and I'm not needing to go to my usual gym as often at all. I'm confident this will prevent any potential osteoporosis. Will definitely recommend this quick modality of strengthening bones to friends!

The sessions were fine but beware there is a 30 day notice policy to leave. I called twice to discuss and my calls were not returned. I did get an automated email that my card would be charged and a 30 day charge which I won’t use. Too bad they need to charge you when you are no longer going. Makes it feel like a rip off instead of a good legit health service.

I came across a free session at Osteostrong several weeks before I had my knee replaced, and decided to try it out, as I have been diagnosed with osteopenia and arthritis throughout most of my body. After my session, due to my upcoming surgery, I was not in a position to commit to returning, but I was impressed with both the experience and the research.

I don't tend to commit to new treatments, opportunities, etc. impulsively. As I recovered from my surgery, I began to do my own research, on PubMed and checking in with my in-home PT. Everything I read and heard absolutely supported what I was told at Osteostrong about the positive results on bone density, balance, strength, and posture from the guided use of the vibration plates and osteogenic loading machines.

After I healed from my surgery, I returned to Osteostrong, and go once a week for my session. Already, after just 5 weeks, my hip pain and headaches (from arthritis in my neck) are reduced. I am excited to get my annual bone density test in a few months . . . not typical as they have been getting worse each year. NOT something to be excited about!

The suite is clean and welcoming, and the staff is energetic, knowledgeable, and friendly! Great find!

I’ve been coming here for over a year. My strength has increased 275%. This is a quick, painless, drug free way to address osteoporosis. The staff is great! Especially Morgan (I call her my fitness mom even though I’m probably more than twice her age!)

I loved the staff however one of the machines actually made my back problems worse. I would ask if it was normal for my mid to lower back to be hurting after using a certain machine( the soreness would less for days) the staff assured me it was normal. However the last time I had went the soreness never went away. 2 months later, my back is a lot worse and the soreness is spreading starting from my mid to lower back. It is not muscle related at all. the pain is coming directly from my spine and gets worse every week. I am seeing a doctor soon about this pain and I am hoping it is not serious AMD is treatable. This is why I stopped going. I do not blame the staff I think they just did not know enough about potential negative effects this being one of them.
