They have the best made on the spot deli sandwiches I've ever had. The staff are all friendly and helpful. You can tell the difference between locally owned stores verses large retail chain stores. They still carry out groceries to your car if needed. I'm not even from Charleston, but I work there and McClains has become my new favorite place to go for lunch. They greet you like they've known you for years. That speaks volumes and will keep me as a customer for years to come.

Store is very clean and organized. Took me 5 minutes to get a shipping cart because I young girl with 3 wild running kids stood in the way blocking the door and path to carts. I was in the store for around 15 minutes. These kids annoyed every person in the store. I use to work in a grocery store. Ther comes a time when management must step up to represent the majority of its customers. Tired of a few running everyone else off. I will not be back.

McClain's has been a hometown grocery store every since I can remember. Being young, and growing up in Charleston Mo you knew this store very well, and the people who owned it. We knew we were different from them, but the McClains treated our neighborhood like family. I can remember as a kid, going there getting the fresh bologna, head cheese, chopped ham, and other delicacies. Nothing has changed much of this grocery store in my adult years. Most of the owners, and people I remember as a little girl, have retired, or passed away, and the children run the grocery now. It's still our hometown grocery, and everyone is still treated as family.

Local small town store business that is still going strong generation after generation which is rare these times. So that should let everyone know the kind of people who run this family owned store. We are fortunate to have them here.
