What are these bad reviews? The police didnā€™t want your press? The police claimed they couldnā€™t do their jobs? And you didnā€™t believe them? Let me leave an actual review:

Every single time Iā€™ve ever called Los Altos PD which in 20 years was a few times.. they guess whatā€¦ SHOWED UP and DID THEIR JOB.

Every. Single. Time. Iā€™ve lived here for 20 years. Granted their jobs used to be a LOT easier. They had waaaay more funding before. But thankfully Los Altos is full of rich people so the police can still do a job just not nearly as well. They have no support at all. But donā€™t worry rich Los Altos people, crime is coming. Your houses, your cars, your mail.. itā€™s starting to happen even here in Los Altos. And the poor Los Altos police will soon be unable to do their job also.

Thank you Los Altos police for your unappreciated service. God notices. And so did I.

Rude argumentative dispatchers, show lack of knowledge and professionalism. No police presence in Los Altos that I've lived in for 60 years and never seen this whole year with not even seeing one unit on patrol. Ignored speeding vehicles on cuesta and El Monte and San Antonio until traffic flow was filled with 85% speeding vehicles. Maybe because there isn't a unit that has shown its presence since January in all my travels through this town this whole year. Just plain pathetic.

Very childish behavior shown by women at the front desk. When a photographer/journalist came in to get video/photos of station, the woman behind the desk closed the blinds so he couldn't see in the window. Then she put paper on the sections of the window that he could still see through. I guess they forget that this station is paid for by the taxpayers. If privacy is actually necessary in the area the the journalist was recording, perhaps they should tint the windows so you can't see in. Or, turn monitors away from the public view. Instead, they act childish.

Some Cold officers. Wonā€™t name any names. But there also caring officers whom I could imagine myself being friends with. Wonā€™t name them either. Could have better training but donā€™t see the point if they donā€™t realize they need it. Tough job, tough people but you can still be empathic. I get a frat type feeling and filing complaints unfortunately may be pointless. I can only hope for the best and prepare for the rest.

WOW! I would say that Officer Darren Mahaleck is an exemplary policeman, working to make the world a safer for all of us. We had a large tree with a huge branch that developed a visible stress crack. That branch could have fallen on a passerby and caused a lot damage. Officer Darren not only noticed the threatening branch, (who of us looks up scanning for trouble?!) He contacted all the right people to get this safety issue taken care of quickly, efficiently and with a lot of TLC.

I am so grateful, and totally impressed with his care and concern, with the followup by the Los Altos Police Phone people, and with the tree removal crew who handled the situation.

Thank you for being there.

Officer Brooks.E badge #319 very unprofessional and need training. Thatā€™s said that he canā€™t perform his job correctly. When he pull me over first thing he asked me is if itā€™s my car lol I was like ok thatā€™s probably first time in my whole driving life I was being asked if it is my car and I think thatā€™s why we have registration for and insurance and second is when I asked for his card at the end and he replied back to me in the very negative way saying ā€œwell you are not getting one todayā€so after that I just remain silent because it would be pointless speaking with him and it just seems like he doesnā€™t like his job or maybe he had a bad day who knows.Very unprofessional and lack of communication skills
