I’m very upset with my experience here at the Lompoc hospital. I brought my family member in because she has a mass on her liver and is in a lot of pain and we been here since 6pm and have yet to be seen in almost 4 hours. Still waiting in the waiting room watching my family member suffer! Instead of them trying to get us back they keep telling us everyone else is a priority and I can’t help but hear that most the ppl are come in because there not feeling well which is understandable but that doesn’t mean be rude to us when asking how much longer.

If I could give a zeo star I would. Currently in the hospital again for chronic abdominal pain and this morning was scheduled for surgery and was calling for pain meds for 2 hours in tears. Then when the nurse came in at 10 am to give me meds she tried to give me oral when I had surgery in 2 hours. When I said something about UT she started to berate me at the top of her lungs. When I asked for the charge nurse and supervisor she at first told me no and she was leaving with the meds and not coming back. Finally the charge nurse comes and the proceeds to basically tell me to calm down there was no reason to get upset and not listen to my nurse. Once the original nurse left the room as I was explaining what happened she charged back in the room and proceeds to berate and yell at me some more in front of other people. Nothing was done of course.

Fast forward to after surgery where they had to repair a giant hernia and remove my bad appendix they withheld IV pain meds 6 hours after surgery telling me that I needed to wait an hour to see if the pill worked first. Nurses were in and out of my room as I have tears rolling down my face and fists gripping the sheets.

Don't come here if you think you will be treated with respect as someone in excruciating pain.

I took a Lyft 30 miles at 6:45am for an MRI waited 2 hrs in lobby. Checked few times to say that my car svc was picking me up at 9am. Can't miss that. They said behind 1 patient. I got the call from my driver said had to go. I was sorry. As I got in the car in the rain, for shit, my phone rang and it was radiology they want to know if I was willing to come in because they were ready for me now. I said, my driver is ready to go, I'm in the car, I'll have to reschedule. I waited 2 hours. I was the last person in the lobby Christmas Eve and still had another appt to go to. Very 😢 sad.

I had outpatient surgery September 5, 2024 at LVMC and had a great experience! I cannot praise the OR team enough! From start to finish, everyone involved was professional, competent and kind.
The entire team, from intake to surgery to recovery, was amazing, working in unison to care for me. Thank you for your dedication and care!

If less than a one star review possible, much more fitting. I went to the ER Sunday morning around 2 am with extreme nausea, chest pain, and a headache. With constant vomiting of stomach acid. I was sobbing in pain. After checking in to the empty waiting room and waiting about 45 minutes, my vitals were taken. I was then moved to a room where a doctor asked my symptoms and promised help. I continued to vomit and sob in agony. I haven’t slept and have vomited my antidepressants, I was beyond irritable. This woman presumably named Casandra. A security guard got me the name after she refused multiple times. Dark hair, short, and rude, Casandra slams my door open and beings to scream at me. While a nurse is giving my IV. She screams, ā€œI’m going to need you to do that quietlyā€ as in vomiting. I stared back in shock. To add some context, I am a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She proceeds to lecture me on how my vomiting will induce chest pain. (Something I just told the doctor in before her). She says I’m not actually throwing up, just contracting, causing my own pain. I show her the half bag full of vomit / stomach acid in which she replies, ā€œ Yea, people usually fill the full thing.ā€ fed up with the attitude I ask for her name and badge number. She says she cannot tell me that. I tell her I’m trying my best and ask her to leave. She responds once again, ā€œyou need to try even harder. No, I’m not leaving. I need to make sure your IV is inā€. My iv was in and being taped. I raise my voice and ask again, ā€œwhat is your name?ā€
She smirks and shakes her head, ā€œstop screamingā€. It goes back and forth for a minute until I stand up to go ask someone else. She screams at me ā€œyou can’t do that I’m calling securityā€ security, and the nurse who did my vitals, corner me in this small room. Emergency room number 3.
Casandra hides behind a corner laughing as I scream for help. I was in full panic now. My partner holding me back from hurting myself.
Finally I am given meds, not for my nausea or pain, but for anxiety. Shot up on Valium, disoriented and exhausted Im told the cops were called and need to speak with me. Two come in, while 3-6 sit outside my room. Once they leave because all I can do is cry on Valium, I ask to be sent home.

Let me specify, this was not the first time I met Casandra. In January of this year, I went to the emergency room with extreme belly pain. Screaming in agony I’m taken to see my vitals where Casandra comes in and begins to scream at me. She asks if I’ve tried breathing…? So I breathe slower for her. She tells me this is just anxiety. However, it was not anxiety and therefore still in pain so expressing symptoms. She did not like that at all. They told me to wait some more. I left, and called an ambulance a hour later with the same symptoms. Once arrived at the hospital the doctor asks if I’ve decided to behave this time. After a CT scan I’m told my appendix is about to burst. I’m rushed upstairs and prepped for surgery. IV put in with Dilaudid, also known as Hydromorophone, a pain medication. After 5+ hours a nurse tells me I’m almost ready for surgery, the surgeon comes in when it’s supposed to be time, to tell me I have to wait even longer. I calmly ask if that’s right since I was just told otherwise. Where he responds with smile and says, ā€œwell I have other patients that are more importantā€. I rip out my IV and I leave again. I went straight to Santa Barbara cottage where my appendix was removed astonishingly within an hour! By nice, kind, understanding nurses.
As a certified nursing assistant, I cannot believe this hospital is still in business. I have since filed a formal complaint. The attendant on the phone said I’d get a call back within a week. Supposedly without a record of a Casandra working there. It’s been a week. And here we are, I am looking for lawyers. With how many negative reviews there are, it’s a true mystery why there’s any trust in their medical management. See you in court!

ER visit for excruciating abdominal pain. Was admitted and left in ER room with curtains drawn for 4 + hours. After struggling to stand, opening the door and throwing a tantrum at the staff sitting at the nurse station with their fingers shoved up their noses, a PA came in and knocked me out with an injection of pain med. Spent most of the day there in drug induced coma. When I woke up, was advised NO doctor available to check stomach issues and the doc on call was unavailable. My husband picked me up, drove me to Santa Barbara cottage, where I was immediately treated for gallstones. One of the Lompoc VMC nurses confided in me that their ER is used for Lompoc gang gunshot victims "not expected to recover" who are in need of death certificate issuance and morgue facilities. She sounded bitter, depressed and disgruntled by the hospital's lack of management and direction. She told me that medical transports to Marion Hospital were reserved for those with higher chance of survival. This brand new Lompoc facility is SO understaffed, the employees on hand are stressed to the point that they get angry with you for asking simple questions while you're in intolerable pain. Beautiful facility, their executive management team should be purged for incompetence. The staff needs to undergo basic compassion training after being numbed by intolerable working conditions.

Just left the care of lompoc hospital recently.
I don't have the words to express my gratitude for them. Everyone I came in contact with were very professional. I feel like they did everything in their power, to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be.
