I was so gratified that the doctor was not condescending, took my comments seriously and spoke to me as an intelligent human being! I realize that doctors nowadays are contending with laymen who do their own medical research at home on the internet and it shows an excellent and well-read doctor who can handle that with grace, kindness and thorough explanation without being offensive. I realize that a few hours on the internet can never compete with the years of rigorous training, education and work that goes into a medical PhD but as one who constantly reads clinical studies and looks up the medical terminology to understand them, I really appreciated that he listened and responded seriously to my questions.
