I was in here yesterday 05/12/2024 to get some drinks for a mother’s day get together when i was searching for a specific wine and called my gf to make sure it was the kind she wanted when i stepped to the corner of the store to make the phone call i was confronted by a very unprofessional and rude store employee a short man in his 40s or 50s with a gray beard who did not seem to be trained in any sort of customer service role because without even offering help he rudely interrupted my phone call and said “are you gonna buy anything because you’re in our stock area and we have no cameras back here.

First of all isn’t the “stock area” supposed to be in the back behind closed doors?

Secondly, why is it your paying customers responsibility to be “only where you can see them” just because you’re too cheap to install more security cameras.

And finally, don’t treat your potential customers as if they are all criminals or thieves. This is a small town and people talk to other people and word of mouth goes a very LONG way here so as a former business owner myself I would strongly encourage you to try and keep all of your local customers happy since their (or my) recommendations and reviews can make or break your business.

Also, I’ve worked in security and loss prevention for 10 plus years and never have I ever approached any customer in a rude way such as this. This man practically chased me out of the store just for being on the phone and browsing his alcohol selection. I understand that many businesses are worried about loss and theft but this is NOT the way to go about preventing it. You’re only gonna drive away customers and it’s only gonna hurt the stores revenue and bottom line. If I was the owner of this establishment I would fire this employee immediately because he is a LIABILITY to your store and business!

Needless to say, I told him i would not be purchasing anything because of how I was being treated like a criminal. Has anyone else ever experienced this type of harrasment from this business?

I was looking for something very specific so I didn't actually make a purchase but they have a great selection of alcohol and surprisingly cigars so I will definitely be going back to pick up some of both.
