Iris Healing Retreat was a unique experience for me. I'm from NC and flying across the country at such a turbulent time to change your life completely is not an easy or comfortable choice to make. Iris made it the right choice. they gave me multiple chances when I didn't think I deserved the first one, and started me on a path that I still walk today 22 months later. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of recovery.

If I could give more than 5 stars to Iris Healing Retreat I would. I’ve suffered with addiction for almost two decades and was about as lost as I could be. I always thought I could fix the problem myself but the reality was that I could not. I went into treatment with an open mind, not knowing what would work and what wouldn’t. From day one, everyone was amazing, staff and clients. You could tell that the staff actually cared about your well being and genuinely wanted to see you succeed. That’s a rarity in this field. The owner Elena has a heart of gold and I’ll never be able to repay back what she has given me; my life. The facility is clean, the food was amazing, and the setting felt more like a family living together as opposed to a asylum type setting that a lot of these places feel like. If you are tired of living the way you’re living (I know I was), call Iris. You absolutely won’t regret the decision.

I went to Iris almost a year ago and the change these people have helped me create in myself is insane. I thought I was beyond help and that my life of spending every second trying to get high was as good as it was going to get for me. Going to Iris I had no plans to stay clean, but the staff showed me a better way to live, a way to be sober and enjoy life. Every time I'm in my time of need they always have a way to help. That is what made me want to stay clean. They showed me I was worth more than what I thought. Eternally grateful to Iris Healing Retreat, I will never forget my experience there.

I have been in and out of treatment since 2009. I went to promises West LA two summers in a row. I truly believe they honestly cared and it wasn't not about money and I did learn a lot. Since 2009 I have had many more experiences and detoxes and inpatient treatment facilities. As the years went on I notice the treatment industry was changing, and not for the better. I am what they call a "chronic relapser." I got arrested in 2016, and this time I was actually forced into treatment by a judge because I was facing prison and two felonies. a good friend of mine referred me to Iris healing retreat which had opened maybe a week or two before I got there. I entered they're angry, I Was 80 lb, I had given up and I had sworn I'd never go back to treatment. I no longer had believed in it I had been let down so many times by facilities that did not put clients needs first and it was all about the money. Elena is a ray of light, her heart shines as does her soul. That woman deeply cares about her clients and helping people with this horrific and deadly disease. Elena's staff welcomed me with open arms. Dapo and Ricardo , are two amazing men that work at that facility. they were loving, kind, and truly, truly cared. I only recommend Iris healing retreat to people in need of treatment. I believe in this place and I believe that this is one of the last places standing that isn't all about money and greed. It's truly about the welfare and the client's needs, and the client's needs always come first. at one point my family moved my apartment into storage, I had two cats, sadly one of them passed away in June, but I was so distraught with trying to find a place to place them until I left she even offered to let them stay in my room for a week. That's unheard of in treatment, and that's something I will never forget. it meant more to me than she will ever know because my cats are my children. the groups, the therapy, and the love and kindness that was shown for me there I had never seen it at any other Treatment Center. I can still call Elena and text her at any time and I entered Iris January 16th 2017 and she still is available for me when I need her. this place goes above and beyond any other treatment facility I've been to and trust me I've been to many. if you're in need and you need help I highly recommend I almost insist that you go to Iris healing retreat. it's a beautiful experience with a beautiful staff, and an amazing chef who can cook and make you laugh. this place brought me back to life and I no longer have a death wish. thank you to Elena and her staff because I would not be where I am right now if it wasn't for them and I will be forever grateful and appreciative. if I could give 20 million stars I would.

I am a fellow therapist in the Los Angeles area. I referred a client of mine to Iris Healing Retreat for her addiction. She came out of there with only positive things to say about Iris and the staff. She reported receiving quality care and feels like she has tools to deal with her substance use. We are now focusing on the traumas that were masked by her addiction. She also felt really positive about the types of therapy she received, including Brainspotting! I have appreciated Iris's client-centered approach!

I also want to speak about Dr. Elena as another professional in the field. I've only had positive interactions with her. She clearly is passionate about the services that she provides and is an incredibly kind and giving person. It speaks volumes that she continuously provides further training to her staff (i.e. Brainspotting, trauma trainings, etc) and also provides consultation groups on site for other mental health professionals. As a referring therapist to the Iris Healing Retreat, this is crucial. Her staff clearly cares about the quality of work that they provide and are always growing in their knowledge about the different therapeutic modalities.
