Fair Oaks Pharmacy (est 1915) is a family owned and the oldest landmark in South Pasadena. It’s a vintage corner shop that offer soda fountain, ice cream, candy, toys, merch & pharmacy shop on Fair Oaks avenue.

I have walked past by this shop for years and never actually walk-inside until today. The best place to enjoy a sundae, shake, banana split or simple cone is a vintage soda shoppe. Once you step through the doors at Fair Oaks there is a distinctively different vibe. Staff were energetic and friendly. I’m glad a visited this shop.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I recommend them.

I really enjoy this place. The interior is so cute with its old vintage look, and all of the fun nostalgic toys and treats inside. I went a couple weeks prior, and the sodas, sundaes and milkshakes are absolutely delicious. They were so good, i wanted to share the experience with my family. We did get turned away by 4:35pm, because LAST CALL IS AT 4:30. We drove quite a distance not knowing there was a cut off. Will definitely come sooner now that we are informed. Btw, the guy with the glasses has excellent customer service. As we were about to leave, he let us know that we could still browse the store until closing. I can understand how annoying it is to have last minute customers, but i do appreciate the service with a smile.

Had a strawberry phosphate soda - tangy and sweet. Felt pretty unique and the interior feels nostalgic. Found a lot of candies from childhood.

I didn’t notice this place until today and I’m just so happy to have went in! I enjoyed it so much that I really just want to share the positive experience... It’s an old school soda and ice cream shop with all the old candies, nostalgic games, and toys for sale as well. The atmosphere is absolutely charming. It’s all original like something you’d see in an old movie. They make all the soda’s in house, have egg creams, floats, sundaes, and shakes. They play all the oldies too so it really sets the tone as soon as you walk in… it’s like a little time portal in such a great way. All around cute, peaceful spot to grab a “drink” and catch up. And the shakes are really great! We had a banana milk shake and it was a proper banana milkshake without fake favor and the ice cream was perfectly sweet. The staff were so incredibly friendly as well which really made the experience lovely. There is a very cute little compounding pharmacy attached as well which is also very cute. Looking forward to coming back here!

Great ready for a treat! Fair Oaks Pharmacy has been serving since 1915 and a great start/end to Route 66. Apart from the Soda fountain, they have a ‘Celebration of Pop Culture’ room with purchasable retro memorabilia from 50s to the 90s! Try out items like the Coca Cola Sundae or an old fashioned ice cream float, where else would you get them!

This place is one of the oldest buildings in Los Angeles. It even smells old. They are packed with candy, and nostalgic toys, even from my childhood in the early 80's in the Midwest. My hearty was so happy walking in, the artists did a great job with the atmosphere ( the moon and rain clouds). really well done. Definitely will be back.

Such a unique and fun place! We were welcomed by 2 friendly staff members who were helpful with it being our 1st time there. I paid $3 for a 1 scoop cone! I was blown away by the size and how affordable it was. Lots of cute toys and books for kids. The food menu sounded great! I'll be getting something from their next time 😋 support local! They're awesome.

Update: they have amazing french fries! We got the regular. And the banana split sundae was superb. The ice cream was so smooth and had a great taste. They truly never disappoint

5/25/21 THEY RE-OPENED 🙌 ABOUT TIME heh. I've been waiting months and so glad they're back. Serving ice cream only right now, no food from the restaurant. Our visit was great, got the bubble gum flavor. Their was only 1 girl serving today. Felt a little bad since it got busy and people left 😕 I did not mind waiting at all. Told her to take her time 🙂 great service as always. Can't wait for the kitchen to open!

Fair Oaks Pharmacy is a classic location. Ice cream parlor with a real pharmacy. Brings back nostalgic feelings of the old days.

They have a great selection of desserts, the portions are huge, be for warned. The ice cream is very average tasting, not to say it taste bad. They also have a selection of regular food, such as burgers and fries.

The rest of the pharmacy has toys and gifts, nicnacs and other Route 66 related merchandise. I appreciate the old games and toys, the stuff you may had found in the 50’s.

The atmosphere is so delightful. Fun for a date, family or just friends getting together to eat the most expensive dessert I’ve ever seen “the sink” costing a whopping $35. (See picture below)
