I’m giving 3 stars, but it’s definitely not because of the doctors or nurses—they were excellent. My rating is entirely due to the horrible and frustrating experience I had with the receptionist at the front desk.

From the moment I arrived, her attitude was unacceptable. Ahead of me, there was a woman who was clearly in pain, and instead of showing any empathy or professionalism, the receptionist curtly told her there were no appointments available for three hours. How can someone treat a person in obvious distress like that? Worse still, I had booked my appointment only 45 minutes earlier, and there were plenty of slots available online. That poor woman had no choice but to leave and seek help elsewhere.

Then it was my turn to deal with her. She was equally awful to me. She rushed through everything, didn’t listen to what I was saying, and spoke in a rude, dismissive tone. I arrived at 12:35 p.m., and without even asking for my name, she immediately told me, in a rude manner, that no appointments were available. When I explained I had an appointment at 1:15 p.m., she claimed I was late and needed to reschedule. Seriously? She hadn’t even bothered to check. When I clarified that my appointment wasn’t until 1:15, she just said, “Then check in at 1:15,” with no apology or acknowledgment of her mistake.

At that point, I was already upset and questioning why I had chosen to come to a place where the first person you encounter clearly has no interest in their job or in treating people with respect. Her attitude completely ruined my mood before I was even seen.

Thankfully, the medical staff were the complete opposite. The nurse who attended to me was kind and professional, and the doctor provided excellent care. I even mentioned the issue with the receptionist, and the second nurse I interacted with was warm, charismatic, and empathetic, which helped ease some of my frustration.

However, all the good medical care doesn’t erase the horrible first impression. As long as that receptionist continues to work there, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values being treated with respect and empathy from start to finish. The medical care was great, but unfortunately, the front desk experience overshadowed everything else.

Great experience at this Urgent Care facility. I was able to be seen quickly and they followed through with their promise to call me the next day with xray results. The doctor in duty was kind and helpful.

We had been in emergency for 8 hours the day before with another family member, and urgent care lines were also exhaustingly long. We heard about Carbon Health providing some basic health treatment and decided to try it for cough and congestion. We had a very caring and thorough visit with a female physician. The X-ray equipment was not available but she did try to prescribe additional diagnostics to alleviate our concerns. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are available. It was amazing to be able to see a physician and receive treatment in under 1 hour! Highly recommend

Pain from Sciatica had become unbearable. I wasn't able to schedule an appointment with my doctor, but I went online to Carbon Health's website and had no trouble booking an appointment.
I was seen on time, the facility was clean & comfortable, the check-in process was hassle free, and the young lady at the front desk was polite and professional.
Dr. Upton was a tremendous help to me. In addition to being able to prescribe the right medication for my condition, she advised me regarding lifestyle changes that might be beneficial. Above all - SHE LISTENED to me!
I would certainly recommend this location to my friends and neighbors.

I love everything about this place from the immaculately clean, warm and inviting facilities to the kind and proficient front office staff that got me in and out in record time without the usual 20 pages of medical history. The Doctor on staff was compassionate and personable and was able to correctly diagnose my issue and prescribe medicine that should have been done by the doctor who examined me three days earlier at another urgent care. I’m so glad I found Carbon Health. It will be my first choice for myself and my family in the future.

First coming here since it switched over to Carbon Health. Perhaps it was because of a review having a bad expericence with the front desk, but my experience today was very pleasant and straightforward in terms of checking in. My appointment was at 10am and I showed up at 940am. I as checked in within 15 minutes and I didn't have to do much other than sign a consent.
Within 20 minutes of my appointment time, I was called into the room. Perhaps it's because it wasn't a busy day but I felt that that was a really quick turnaround for an urgent care facility. The healthcare staff were very professional and gentle when dealing with my laceration. During the cleaning, digging into the wound for any foreign material and suturing the wound, they made sure I was not in pain during the process. I was stitched up and given a tetanus shot then out of the facility just a little over an hour.

Great place. Although it took some time to be seen, it was well worth the wait. The nurse practitioner was awesome and thorough. I'm feeling better already after just a few hours. Thanks again!

I previously visited the Ocean Blvd location and was happy with my service there. This location was not different, though there is much more parking available than the Ocean Blvd location. Staff are friendly, the waiting room was comfortable enough, and I was seen within a reasonable amount of time despite being late due to traffic.

The Family Nurse Practitioner spoke a little quickly, I’m sure because he wants to move through patients as fast as possible. I was able to catch up after a few false starts and he prescribed appropriate medications for the strep I tested positive for - penicillin, and when I mentioned I’ve had yeast infections on antibiotics a couple of times he prescribed an anti-fungal in case that happens again.

I feel more comfortable with Carbon Health than I do with my primary care elsewhere - I’m not sure why Carbon’s clinics trigger less white coat anxiety for me, but I’m relieved to have a simple place to go for simple problems that’s covered by Medicaid while I’m still in grad school (I have an Anthem Blue Cross plan through Medicaid; I’m not sure if all Medicaid plans cover services here). The Carbon app is also very easy to use. I’ll reiterate here (as I shared in my review of the Ocean Blvd location) that if Carbon started offering primary care I’d be happy to switch.
