Pediatrician since my son's birth. God forbid you decline the HPV vaccine. He's like " oh so you're ok with your kid getting cancer?" This was about four years ago but it still pisses me off every time I think about it. Oh, and he had interns in the room with us so that was great.

I’m a first time mom and at first I thought Dr. Daniel Schulman was cool laid back doctor but when it came to serious matters he was still laid back and will tell me not to exaggerate. When my baby turned 9 months he recommended switching and to start with fresh whole milk, as soon as we started he started pooping more like diarrhea more often and his eye started to get swollen but the worst day was the after Thanksgiving I made an appointment ASAP with Dr. Daniel Schulman as soon as he walked in and saw my son before even asking about my concerns or greeting us he walked in and was like he is fine his eyes are fine he has big eyes that’s normal and I expressed my concerns because it was the left eye more then the right and his eye have been getting more and more swollen. He said as long as the baby didn’t have discharge or redness he was fine he stated the pooping was due to baby growth. I went for a second opinion and found a great doctor Dr. Phelps advocate in Oswego, she immediately stated swollen eyes is not normal and the diarrhea was not common either she order Blood work at 11am and at 2:20pm she called me that I needed to take my son to the ER because his labwork was abnormal he was significantly anemic (low red blood cells) low protein levels (albuminemia) and abnormal kidney test. My son was admitted to hospital he needs blood transfusion and the doctors at the hospital could not believe Dr. Daniel Schulman recommended whole Milk at 9 months and did not take further action when I took him in for his eyes. Doctors explain to me that this was caused due to early transition from formula to whole milk. The cow milk induced iron deficiency anemia, my baby had protein losing enteropathy from iron deficiency. Also under consideration for cause of hypoalbuminemia in poor protein intake due to whole milk. Other words babies do not start to produce iron until after 12 months, whole cows milk does not have iron or supplements baby needs to continue to grow so at 9 months Dr, Daniel Schulman took that away from my baby and This happened you introduce whole milk after 12 months because after 1 year baby start producing iron on there own the only thing cows milk have is calcium, I put all my trust, confidence and guidance as first time parents to Dr. Daniel Schulman and followed my pediatric instructions and he failed my child and put his life at risk so be aware and STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR AND OFFICE. I called Northwestern Medicine and it seems that office managers do not exist anymore. So I hope this not happen to another baby that’s a patient of his. I hope someone from Northwestern Medicine calls me and addresses my concerns.

My kids and I adore Dr. Schulman. He is great with children and explaining things to me as the parent. We have been seeing him for a few years now and it is always a good experience. He makes kids laugh and can get them to relax when they are nervous.
