Been coming here on and off for 5+ years now, but sadly this place hasn’t improved! Amongst the 3 Indian stores nearby (I.e. this one, India Grocery and Spice, and Cash n Carry Foster City), this one is the worst. The vegetables are stale, the fridge temperature control is not good making the food go bad, and I have often found near-expiry stuff. The staff is polite but not very helpful.

I am giving 2 stars as the cleanliness has considerably improved in the last 6 months, and it’s open till 10 at night. That said, I only go here out of desperation sometimes since it’s the closest from where I live.

To the owner of Namastey Plaza: you have such a nice location. Please make better use of it. Stock good quality produce, check the inventory for expired times and overall get a better vibe going (songs can help!).

It’s a small Indian Store having all the basic Indian products. They have some home made snacks too. Very little option for Indian cosmetic. Fresh vegetables available too. All kind of rice, dal & lentils a available too.

It's a store of contrast- it will make you happy since you will find most of the stuff you need but it will also leave you terribly unhappy with the whole shopping experience. It has everything that an Indian grocery store should offer but the store is not clean, items are not well arranged and shelves are shabby. If they can just give few touches then it will be a good grocery store. But until then continue with the unpleasant experience since there isn't another Indian grocery store in the near vicinity.

I went to this store to purchase groceries, a person at the register named Akhil was very rude. I just asked him could you help me find the dosa batter and he told I cannot help you to show you where it is, and he told me it's in refrigerator. Then I went to bill the groceries and I paid with cash and told he cannot print receipt then I asked him to call his manager and I asked his name. Then all of the sudden the miracle happened he has receipt for my groceries purchased. I will better go to other grocery store rather than having bad customer service.

Agree with Shirish's review below. Please improve the vibe and organization. Do some overhaul and make it more inviting. Please have a happy engaging staff.

You have a much better location than the one on Hillsdale. You could do much better than them and this is so near Redwood Shores with so many g desis.
Also please carry Strauss Milk.

Store is heading south.
Messy racks, packages on the floor, it looks like the store has its best years behind it.
Would I shop here?
Maybe, if the other Indian grocery on Hillsdale doesn't carry what I want.

Update: Remains mediocre. Goods on shelf's messed up in some places, freezer has liquids on the floor with product packs, it's not nice.
Then, they throw trash out front, with pigeons having a party (see photo). I wonder if the health department has an opinion.
The owners, not the employees, need to spend a few weeks in the store.

Update April 13th:
Saw a significant improvement in the store. Much better than before.
Much cleaner, no boxes lying around in the aisles, shelves are mostly tidy.
A person claiming to be a partner in the business was welcoming the very few customers coming in (as opposed to the store on Hillsdale, which was so busy we couldn't find parking there, which is why we ended up here).
They were offering eat-in free tea (!), as well as Hyderabad -style pani puri (not free). Pani puri was ok.
Store is much cleaner now. The aisles appear twice as wide because there are no cardboard boxes lying around, no more puddles of stuff lying at the bottom of the refrigerated section. Shelves are well stocked. As well, plenty of parking space, which is really a huge competitive advantage over the Hillsdale store.
If they are able to keep improving, I think they will begin to attract more customers.

What a mess this store is!!! I went at 12pm on a weekend and there were boxes all over the floor. There was not enough room to get the cart across the aisles. All the vegetables looked like a week old. There were 10 people at the checkout line and only one cashier was at the register at peak shopping time.
