First time here and the place is impressive. It has lots of lockers outside the bathrooms for your belongings, plenty of equipment and newer style dumbbells, plates and deadlift stations (9+). I liked how there are dedicated areas for each type of workout. Pretty clean, but not many paper towel stations, as others have noted. Staff is friendly. There are way toooomany high schoolers here in the afternoon. I guess it's best to start early.

I've been going to this gym since the day it opened as it's conveniently located very close to where I live. The amount of equipment they have and the spaciousness is very nice, but i feel like there has been a decline in cleanliness and equipment maintenance over the past year or so. The cardio machines in particular are where I have the biggest issue. They are often filthy with dry sweat and paper towels that people leave in the drink holders. Given the amount of people that frequent this gym they should have a full time person(s) cleaning from the time they open until the time they close. They had one guy for a long time that I used to see cleaning and re-racking weights but I never see him or anyone else cleaning for that matter. As far as the equipment goes I typically only use the stair-master and currently they have 4 that are completely broken. 1 or 2 of them have not been in use for over 6 months, possibly a year now. There are at least another 3-4 machines that work, but they need maintenance. They are really bumpy and make lot's of noise when walking on them. On a positive note there is newer girl that works at the front desk that couldn't be any nicer. Always has a big smile on her face, says hello, asks how you're day is going, etc. She's great!

Avoid 24 Hour Fitness if you're looking for flexibility or a chance to try before you buy. I recently moved to the area and wanted to check out different gyms before committing. When I visited to ask about a trial day, their policies were ridiculously rigid and expensive.

First, they couldn't offer a single day trial. As a potential new customer, I found this incredibly short-sighted. How am I supposed to know if I like the facility without trying it?

Then, they told me a single day workout would cost $25! That's absurd for just one visit. Even worse, when my friend who's already a member offered to bring me as a guest, they wanted to charge him an extra $10 per month for one measly guest pass. Talk about nickel-and-diming your loyal customers.

The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Their inflexible policies and attempt to squeeze every penny out of potential and existing customers shows they care more about immediate profit than building a welcoming community. I'll be taking my business elsewhere, to a gym that actually wants new members.

If you're gym shopping in the area, I'd recommend looking at other options before considering 24 Hour Fitness. There are bound to be more accommodating places that will let you try before you buy without breaking the bank.

My favorite 24. Super clean, all machines are fully functional. Entire gym is actually clean. Not overly crowded like other locations Definitely Recommend this spot.

Staff are great, as well as the cleanliness. Machines are hit and miss. Case in point: They have 4 adjustable cable machines, but they rarely work properly anymore. They are all sticking and never get fixed.

Don’t get me wrong, the gym is very nice and sanitary; with that said, the weights are very rarely where they should be.

The facility itself is state of the art: All the machines are very nice, the dumbbells/plates are all new, and there are so many variations of every machine. The locker rooms/bathrooms are also very well kept. In fact, I have never seen the bathrooms look dirty regardless of the hours. A sauna would really make this gym special, but that’s neither here nor there. If you are into cardio machines, classes, or weight lifting this gym pretty much has it all.

With all that said, the free weight organization is an absolute dumpster fire. I understand there is a high school literally down the street and from 3pm-9pm is basically 100 teenagers running around and leaving their weights all over the gym; but, the staff doesn’t seem to do anything about it. It is so frustrating trying to find the weight you need when it’s either tucked in a dark corner of the gym, or there is a group of boys with 30 dumbbell’s surrounding them. I watch kids deliberately place weights in the wrong spot and move on like it’s no issue. Every squat rack or bench rack doesn’t have the weight organizers labeled so there are 4 different plates on each rung. Also if you need a 5lb plate GOOD LUCK! You will scour the whole gym and find there are maybe six 5lb plates in the entire gym.

I do like this gym a lot! I really don’t think it wouldn’t take much from the staff to reinforce the rules and keep the weights organized. Unfortunately, I find myself leaving here really hot with the slight urge yell at kids who have awful gym etiquette.

Update: Added a photo on a very slow Friday afternoon to show an accurate representation of the weight rack. To make things worse, I watched one of the personal trainers purposely put his weights in the wrong spot due to lack of organization. The best part is, he did it as I was reorganizing the dumbbells and did not bat an eye. I think it would take me about 1 hour to fix the underlying issues with the dumbbell’s to avoid this problem entirely. Regardless, the $7 monthly membership increase could have been used to hire someone who can clean up the weights in their downtime.

This gym has the potential to be so good yet they don’t fix equipment in a timely manner (I can’t imagine parts on back order for 2ish months is a thing). Additionally, adjusting the cable machines is a workout in itself. The equipment doesn’t slide/glide when adjusting them. The palomar location is the better location in my opinion, but I give this location a chance every once in a while and am disappointed repeatedly. Staff is great, friendly, and helpful but the equipment maintenance lacks heavily.
